On 30th November 2019, Hashim stepped up to the starting line at F1 pit building, ready to run the race of his life. 5 hours and some minutes later, Hashim crossed the finish line.
This is Hashim’s story.
My lifelong mission as a Muslim man, a husband and father is to keep fit and healthy, and to be a positive example to my family and community. I want to share my knowledge and experience that I believe could be beneficial to my family, friends and society.
Since 2017, I have completed the 10km and the 21km categories of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. This year, I will be attempting to complete the full 42.195km. This will be a test of my commitment, dedication and planning. I aim to motivate my family, particularly my daughters with this endeavour.
I am recording this story together with several videos to journal and chronicle my mission from beginning to completion for my daughters. I hope to give them a glimpse of what it takes to prepare for the mission, a glimpse of my consistent and cumulative effort put in over the last 3 years, for the greatest long distance running race, the marathon.
In 2018 I ran and completed the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, half marathon category. I did this after recovering from a back injury, a process that took 3 years. You have read this story in this blog here.
