Route Specifics
- Wide promenade that sits on the western bank of the Huangpu. The Huangpu flows north to south.
- The historical Shanghai International Settlements were here. Now these historic buildings houses banks, posh fashion labels and luxury hotels
- The opposite eastern bank is Pudong commercial area, where many iconic skyscrapers can be found. Some say the opposite eastern bank is a better place to hang out.
- 1.6km from Wai Bai Du Bridge in the northern end to the Pier on Yan An Road in the south.
- Suzhou Creek is at the northern end of the Bund. It snakes inland due west.
Getting to the Bund
- Take the Shanghai Metro Line 2. The green line.
- Get off at East Nanjing Road.
- Take Exit 7. Turn left and walk to the intersection of Henan Middle Road and Nanjing Road.
- Turn left onto Najing Road at the intersection. The Bund is straight ahead, no more than 500m. You will be at the northern end of the Bund where the Wai Bai Du Bridge is.
Best time to go
In the morning to beat the traffic. Any later than 10am you would be playing dodge the tourist. Avoid the evenings too.
