Every one of us knows an elderly person. We may ourselves be an elderly person and certainly one day, we will ourselves be one. You don’t even have to be an elderly person to be afflicted with dementia.
And yet, 2 out of every 3 people globally believe there is little or no understanding of dementia in their countries. Very possibly because they, don’t, themselves understand it.
For example, I didn’t know this fact: Every 3 seconds, someone is diagnosed with dementia globally.
World Alzheimer’s Month is the international campaign by Alzheimer’s Disease Association (ADA) every September to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia. 21st September is World Alzheimer’s Day.
I’m starting the 21 for 21 challenge to help raise awareness and understanding of dementia in Singapore. I’m doing 21 push-ups every day for 21 days. Join me.
ADA will give away one #Adventurebeforedementia t shirt to anyone who completes the challenge. Every day for 21 days video your 21 push ups and post it on FB with the hashtag #21pushupsforWAM T shirt giveaway ends on 30th September 2018. You must do 21 push ups every day for 21 days!
Don’t want to do the push ups? Contribute by purchasing #Adventurebeforedementia t shirt at https://alz.org.sg/shop/
Help raise awareness about the condition, inspire others to learn more about it, and eliminate stigma.
